Nominate a school librarian or literacy champion to become a cover star!
Do you know someone who goes above and beyond to foster of love of reading for pleasure in your school?
This could be a school librarian, a teacher, a teacher’s assistant, a support worker or anyone that champions children’s books in a primary or secondary school setting.
As their ‘School Libraries Champion’ Steve Antony illustrates the front covers of the UK School Library Association’s quarterly magazine, TSL. His illustrations pay tribute to school librarians, school libraries and literacy champions.
The School Library Association’s guiding principle is a firm belief that every child deserves a great school library, which is why they launched their ‘Great School Libraries’ campaign in 2018. Great School Libraries is a three year evidence-based campaign to bring back libraries and access to librarians in every school in the UK.
Steve Antony’s cover illustrations not only honour great school libraries and their dedicated librarians, but also recognise people within a school setting who champion reading for pleasure. After all, not every school has a librarian.
